Ken Enfinger of Phoenix Trucking Institute receives Veterans Supportive Campus plaque from Wanda Wright, Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, Thomas Winkel, Arizona Coalition for Military Families, and Greg Patterson, Arizona Board of Regents

Recognition plaques were presented by:
Wanda Wright, Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services
Thomas Winkel, Arizona Coalition for Military Families
Greg Patterson, Arizona Board of Regents

Our own, Ken Enfinger, was there to receive it.

What it means to be a Veteran Supportive Campus:

As a campus that is supportive to veterans, the intentions are to address the unique needs of military affiliated students on campus, including veterans, service members and their families. (Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services)

This certification ensures that the institute understands the needs of the veteran students and are responsive to said needs. Having instructors who are veterans themselves assures that all veteran students feel comfortable when taking our CDL driving courses. Our staff has been trained on military and veterans’ culture, which includes issues related to PTSD and other physical and mental disabilities, and are hyper-vigilant.

We have special veteran orientation programs as well as peer mentors and support programs for veteran students. (Which is why one of our veteran graduates chose Phoenix Truck Driving Institute over other trucking schools in the Phoenix Valley.)
